Accredited Care Farm

Potsford Farm provides support to adults who have a learning disability, autism, and/or mental health needs. We are accredited by Suffolk County Council, and by Social Farms and Gardens.

Potsford Farm is set among 200 acres of beautiful Suffolk countryside. Some of our fields are laid to arable crops and others provide grazing for our herd of Red Poll cattle, flock of sheep and herd of goats, and livery horses as well as space for Gloucester Old Spot pigs, and chickens and guinea pigs. We have an established breeding programme for our cows, sheep and goats which enables us to produce future breeding stock and fine quality meat which we can sell and use in our farm kitchen.

Our co-farmers have an opportunity to work with all of these animals in a hands-on approach. They can participate in the daily running of the livery yard and help with growing produce on our very own allotment area. We also have a large wood workshop where co-farmers can build new furniture, restore old furniture or create their own masterpiece!

We also have an art space where our co-farmers can participate in art and craft activities with staff and visiting teachers – our latest session being wool spinning our own sheep fleeces. Inside The Hive (our main facilities building) is where we take our breaks – and where our fully fitted kitchen is used for co-farmers to hone their skills in cooking, producing a hot meal each day for their fellow co-farmers.
